Scull ptures 'n bones

I went to a Sculpture Workshop in Brooklyn at Pratt Art Institute. Chemists should know by the color of the flame which metall is about to be cast - in this case it's an alloy: Bronce.
Before pouring the liquid into the molde - if I remember correctly - they let it cool down to 2500F ≈ 1400 ÂșC which seems pretty high, you can cast steel at that temperature. You were only allowed to watch - but casting always provides lots of beautiful colors, so you'd want to see it again and again. Still some time I'd like to do that myself, a bit smaller for the start...

Back in the Lab Boyang tried to get Cartilage for his experiment. Which is a bit easier - just get some bones from the slaughter house and cut them up.

Mahlzeit!
