Paying Colonel William's Burgh a Visit

Finally i went on one of my "expeditions" again. There's a part of New York I always wanted to explore - I told some of you guys about it even before I left. But NYC is just so huge, and there was always somewhere else to go.
Today i finally managed to go there - despite the rain (I was quite lucky, I only came into a shower on the way back - at the most exposed place, but what the h***). I'm of course talking about Williamsburgh - the place where all the good music comes from. Don't ask me why, but whenever there is a band interview it goes like "We got guest from NY today, more specific Brooklyn, Williamsburg" ...
And I have to tell you guys I liked it there - the Bridge itself was in nice grey and PINK tones - AWESOME!!!, why are all the bridges in austria in plain grey, black or green?
And I think all the movies that show a street where people live next to the subway where shot over there on Broadway - Lord of War for instance, I'm pretty sure that's where Yuri Orlov (N. Cage) grew up.
The clouds made the atmosphere perfect. I got a lots of good shots, so came back to see the rest in the next couple of days...

Water Castle Manhattan

I saved some of the pics from Jun16 for later this week, but somehow I didn't manage to post them. Most of the week it was raining, sometimes really hard - I have never experienced the Monsoon rain, but the comparison seems adequate to me. I was hoping to do some more exploring this weekend, but when I woke up it was raining, again. Totally sucks! I should just ignore it and go out anyway - all I have to do is finding the motivation to do so.

Report Non-Humans

There are places were people just stay inside, and there are places where people live outside, like NY - and I like that.
I also bought a small Cranberry Walnut Bread - it's delicious - I could also get a lunch special for the same price...

Anthony from Soho

It was already dark outside and raining and I was painting on a new project while waiting for a friend, when I heard brass band music outside. "Oh when the Saints", "New York" - pretty good band, so I rushed out to see a crowd with umbrellas driving Anthony and Jesus through Soho. Well, it's not like Fronleichnam, but it was a procession - to the music of "New York"... I'd like to see a catholic procession in Austria to the music of "Hoamadlaund"...

Gloaming after Lunch

This afternoon I was hunting again - but the thick clouds above provided me with light conditions I normally have about 5 hours later... That was a bit annoying, as I couldn't get any sharp shots with my tele, which would have been a great tool when I ran into that India festival - interestingly Hare Krishna included. I got some funny looks too - I guess I was the only one with that haircut who wasn't wearing a yellow tunica.
I could really need some sun here - but now I even got rain instead. Maybe I should just sleep through the weekend...
