When you've found the brooklyn bridge and you are coming from the wrong side you have to find the very well hidden stairs which will lead you up to the bridges walkway.

Found it! Kuhl, I am able to see everything up here.

From this point on, the expedition got it's own little soundtrack:
"Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can!
Spins a web any size, catches thieves just like flies!
Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man! ..."
I promise you'll hear that all the time!

Nice - there is some blue sky! (for like 15min then everything was gray again)

Captain Nausner documents he has conquered the bridge.
As I didn't bring my own flag, I just left the Stars'n Stripes Flag where it was and claimed the flag too! Nobody listened - damn!

Actually - the place is not as idyllic as it might look. Fuel eating noisy dirt things are passing under my feet nonstop.

Finally in Brooklyn "Dumbo" with some parks near Brooklyn and Manhatten Bridge (i guess that's where all the cars with the couples stop in the movies). A very interesting quarter where I found another interesting Bookstore with artbooks great childrens books and a photogallery about childsoldiers on the wall. There was also a nice fleamarket with lots of vintage stuff - all clean and polished and best of all affordable.

Manhatten Bridge

To make up for the cars - it's about 2:30 p.m. - i quickly faked sunset for all the romantic souls out there.

Wow - indian squaws taking pictures of themselves to proof they've been in the new world too - wait a sec, that didn't come out right. Just students faking their heritage? They had lots of fun though.

Forget about all those stupid tags you see on all the roofs - in Dumbo you'll find real street art!! That's actually a cocktailbar. Maybe I'll try it out some time...

The long way back on Manhatten Bridge wich had by far the better view - as my obsession with Brooklyn bridge was completely sattisfied - but you'll walk quite a while next to the tracks - and when the metro passes by it gets REALLY loud!
I decided not to post any pictures of china town - i'm saving these for another time. So goodbye with a retro postcard sight of manhatten. Whoever comes to NY and has a free afternoon with nice weather and has no idea what to do, what to do to do to do- take at least a walk over Brooklyn Bridge go down to Dumbo, and if your feet are hurting take the metro back. You'll totally enjoy that.
Eastern evening time, Captain Martin needs to find lunch - bought a mouse instead (for the laptop)... finally found somebody who'll make a tasty kebap for money.
Over and out.
